If your new Samsung Galaxy Note 5 gets stuck on the Samsung logo or entered the boot loop, more often, the cause of that is corrupt files or caches. It usually happens after a firmware update especially major ones.


Caches are files created by the system for its use to make apps run smoothly the next time you use them. These files are made after the installation or during the first run of the app. They are dispensable and there are no risks involved if they're deleted because Android will create new ones if it has detected there are no caches for some apps.

If there's a corrupt cache, more often it will create a conflict in the system. As a result, the phone may run slowly, gets stuck on the logo, enters boot loop, freezes, lags, etc. Since you cannot pinpoint which file is corrupt, then you will have to delete all of them and here's how you do it…
  1. Turn your Galaxy Note 5 off.
  2. Press and hold the Volume Up key, Home key, and the Power key simultaneously.
  3. When the phone vibrates, release the Power and the Home keys but continue holding the Volume Up key.
  4. When the Android System Recovery screen appears, release the Volume Up key.
  5. Press the Volume Down key to highlight 'wipe cache partition.'
  6. Press the Power key to select it.
  7. When the wipe cache partition is complete, 'Reboot system now' is highlighted.
  8. Press the Power key to restart the device.
