IMEI (International Mobile Equipment Identification) is a 15 digit unique number which is specific to a mobile handset and IMEI Number of two Mobile handset cannot be same.

If you want to check IMEI Number of your Mobile then you can do it by simply,

• Dialing *#06# on your mobile.
• Find IMEI Number on the box of your handset.
• Find it inside your mobile phone under the battery.

If you have your mobile IMEI Number then you can easily block it when it gets lost or stolen.

In the first step you have to file a complaint about your lost mobile handset at a local Police Station nearby. Provide a copy of Police complaint to your Mobile Network provider so that they can block IMEI number.

Mobile Network Provider will share your IMEI number on CEIR (Central Equipment Identity Register). By sharing your IMEI Number on CEIR your mobile handset will cease to work with any Mobile Network Operator.It means that even if the person who stole your mobile handset tries to make a call from your mobile set using any other Mobile Network Provider he will be unable to do so.
