Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge

Most of the time we encounter charging, battery, and other power related issues with our #Samsung #GalaxyS6Edge device. May it be minor or a major one; this is the kind of problem that we need to find a solution ASAP as it prevents us from using the device completely. Below are some of the scenarios that we may experience ourselves while using the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge.

PROBLEM # 1: SAMSUNG GALAXY S6 EDGE STUCK ON STARTUP

Hello. I have a Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge. I charged it last night and this morning, it won’t turn on. It’s unresponsive. I went online and tried to reboot it but it’s a failure. The last buttons that I pressed are Volume Up, Volume Down and Home button then the screen is stuck on startup. Could you please help me? Is there any way that I can save the phone? Thank you. – Mary
Solution:  Hi Mary. It looks like you are trying to boot your phone into recovery mode which is a wise decision on your part. It’s just not done properly though. Recovery partition is bootable and can be accessed by pressing button combinations on your phone. This time, we need to reset the phone to its factory default to remove any apps that may have caused it to not reboot successfully. Here’s the proper way to boot it.
  1. Turn off the Galaxy S6 Edge completely.
  2. Wait for 2 minutes before powering it back on.
  3. Press and hold the Volume Up + Home + Power buttons to enter Recovery mode. Keep holding these buttons down until you see the Android logo pops up.
  4. Once you are in the Galaxy S6 Edge Recovery mode, scroll down using the Volume Down button until you see the wipe data/factory reset Use the Power button to select it.
  5. Once the factory reset is complete, exit Recovery mode by selecting thereboot system now
  6. Wait for the Galaxy S6 Edge to boot up normally.
If this does not resolve the issue, consider sending it in for repair. If it’s still within warranty, contact Samsung for a free service.

PROBLEM # 2: SAMSUNG GALAXY S6 EDGE SHUT OFF COMPLETELY

Hi there. I saw this email on a webpage after having a very strange issue with my phone. Earlier today and completely out of the blue, my Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge phone switched off, and since, I have been unable to switch it back on. It is not charging whatsoever, and has no defects such as water damage or anything similar. It is only a few months old so I find this very strange. Is there anything that you can do to help me with this issue I am having? Kind regards.  – Edoardo
Solution: Hello Edoardo. There are two ways to fix this issue. Try a different battery. This is to identify if the issue lies with the battery or the phone’s hardware. If it turns on using a different battery, then your original power juice is defective and needs to be replaced. If it still does not turn on, then the defect is internal and your Galaxy S6 Edge has to be sent in for repair. Obviously you are still within warranty so the service should be free with Samsung. Hope this helps.

PROBLEM # 3: SAMSUNG GALAXY S6 EDGE CHARGING ISSUES

Hi. I have a Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge that will not charge. Initially, the phone would not turn on at all.  When I plugged the phone in with its original fast charger, I got the dead battery symbol showing 0% charge. There is a flashing green LED light below that battery symbol right above the home button. I have tried a soft reset on the phone. I was finally able to get the phone to turn on, but it still does not charge. I tried booting in safe mode, still does not charge. If the phone is powered down, all I get is the battery dead symbol with the blinking green LED above the home button. I have had the phone since September of last year so unfortunately it is no longer under warranty. Can you help? Thank you. — Roy Slagle
Related problem:
Hi guys I need help please. I dropped my phone in water and after a while, I realized my phone turned off. I quickly dried my cell phone with a dry cloth and a hair dryer and kept it in a rice bag for 3 days. After that, to my surprise, the phone didn’t show any response so I plugged it in. It showed the charging sign and displayed 97% on the screen. But when unplugged, there’s no response. It just goes black. I’ve tried all the troubleshooting like press and hold the Power and Volume keys, recovery mode, clear cache partition, factory reset but to no avail. The S6 Edge works fine with the charger plugged in but goes black with no response if unplugged. Please help me. – Shabana
Solution: These issues can only have one culprit, the battery itself. Since the Galaxy S6 Edge still turns on and functions normally with the charger connected, the phone’s hardware is not damaged. It is most likely that the battery can no longer hold up its juice thus remains unresponsive when disconnected from its charger. Try inserting a different battery to isolate the issue. If it works, then you may have to consider buying a new battery completely.

PROBLEM # 4: SAMSUNG GALAXY S6 EDGE RANDOMLY TURNS OFF

Hi. I bought this phone on August and everything was fine but lately, the phone just randomly turns off when the battery is low. First time it happened was when there’s still 12% of battery and next when it’s like 5%. This happened for quite a few times so I wonder if it’s because of the low battery or any other reasons. Please help! – S.
Solution: Hi S. The most likely reason for this is the number of apps running in the background. These apps can deplete your battery juice fast if you will allow them to continue running in the shadows, unless this could be a telltale sign of a deteriorating battery. As of now, the best thing to do is to install a battery aid app like Battery Doctor. You can download this from the Play Storefor free. Some of the benefits of this app are prolonging your phone’s battery life by killing unnecessary apps that are running in the background, making sure that the charging process is correct and complete, detecting early signs of battery damage and fixes them for you. If worse comes to worst, you may need to replace the battery completely. Please do let us know if the app helped improve the Galaxy S6 Edge battery’s performance.
